Oracle Developer 2000

This program provides the knowledge to take advantage of Oracle’s significant advances in scalability and compatibility as well as the ability to effectively leverage the strength of both client / server technology and the web.

This course track is divided into five areas:

(1) Introduction to Oracle: SQL & PL/SQL

(A) Introduction to Oracle8i: SQL & SQL*Plus

  • Understand the concepts of relational databases.
  • Create and alter table definitions including column data type declarations.
  • Maintain data within tables using INSERT, DELETE & UPDATE statements.
  • Build queries using both basic and advanced SQL techniques.
(B) Introduction to Oracle8i: PL/SQL Language

  • Understand the concepts of relational databases.
  • Create and alter table definitions including column data type declarations.
  • Build queries using both basic and advanced SQL techniques.
(C) Oracle8i Advanced: SQL & SQL*Plus

  • Complete a schema definition with indexes, synonyms, sequences and tablespace placement
  • Protect data integrity using declarative constraints.
  • Protect table access using database object security
  • Complete complex SQL requests using ROLLUP, CUBE and hierarchy processing

(2) Develop PL/SQL Programming Units - Oracle8i Procedural Features

  • Build comprehensive database triggers
  • Build new Oracle8i system triggers
  • Develop stored procedures and functions
  • Encapsulate program units into packages
  • Use Oracle Procedure Builder for debugging and code development

(3) Developer/2000 Build Forms I - Oracle Developer 6i Form Builder

  • Build basic form modules
  • Incorporate custom menu bars
  • Build GUI controls including check boxes, radio groups and LOVs.
  • Control presentation with windows, canvases and dialog boxes

(4) Developer/2000 Build Forms II - Oracle Developer 6i Forms Triggers & Objects

  • Customize complex client/server form applications
  • Build reusable modules for rapid productivity
  • Develop and debug complex triggers and program units
  • Control presentation with windows, canvases and dialog boxes
  • Building specialty stored procedure data blocks

(5) Developer/2000 Build Reports - Oracle Developer 6i Report Builder

  • Build basic report modules
  • Produce all report styles including master-detail, form letter, labels
  • Customize report output with frames, PL/SQL triggers and report objects
  • Output report contents as HTML pages
